A Good Place To Study

   
    Every student has their owm places in which they prefer to study. Most of the people choose the place according their own style. We choose Jamba Juice as one of the good places to study for three reasons.
    First of all, Jamba Juice sells fresh juice. They made a juice with fresh and natural fruits, and they do not use artificial flavors or preservatives. The natural fruits juice can help student to become healthier. Moreover, Jamba Juice has many varieties of juices, so you can choose according to your taste. In addition, Jamba Juice is located near to PCC. You can walk or drive to Jamba Juice, but we recomend you to walk because by walking you can do some exercises. A lot of student spend their time sitting on the chair studying for a long time, but it can affect or change your posture. Exercising every day at least 15 minutes is really good to your body. For example, jogging. Last of all, Jamba Juice provides a very nice place to the customers. The place has good illumination, so the studeents can study or read a book in a bright enviroment. Also, there are many tables and chairs where you can study. You do not need to wait for long time to find a sit.
    To sum it up, there are many different places that student can study, but we recomend you to come to study at the Jamba Juice. Maybe you will like it, and the natural juice will make you healthier. Come to try it and enjoy it!

Two Talented Mountain Climbers

    Touching the Void is a cliffhanger movie that talks about two friends who are mountain climbers to climb a mountain in Peru.It was so hard and lonely for them to stay on the mountain one week,they are the most talented mountain climbers that I have ever seen.
    First of all,they succeeded even though they had not prepared enough food.Food is important for the climbers,especially when Simon and Joe were trapped in the mountain.They had to think about how to keep their physical strength during that long time.In addition,they still lived although there was nobody who could help them,just themselves.There was nobody had climbed this big mountain before they came,so nobody knew how dangerous the environment was there.Since they were tied up together,if one person fell down the mountain,the other would suffer.What they could do was just depend on each other,and hope that nothing bad would happen with the other person.They had to persist and solve any problem by themselves.Last of all,they finished the impossible work after it already took them such a long time on the mountain.Simon had no choice,and finally he cut the rope that linked him and Joe.Joe fell down into the crevice.He broke his leg,and he was so lonely to support himself to live,but he still never gave up.After he struggled two days in the crevice,it was so miraculous that he went back to the camp that was at the bottom of the mountain.
    In conclusion,they were so great because they did an impossible work.These two people kept silent and just climbed by their resoluteness and wisdom.I think their lives and careers will like that they climbed the mountain,and finally they will get the peak of their lives and careers.These are the reasons why they were talented mountain climbers .Their story will be spread by their descendants forever.

PCC's ESL program

    There are many different colleges that have ESL programs for foreign students. This system will help us to improve our English skills. We have good reasons why we choose PCC's ESL program.    First of all, PCC's ESL program contains a good system for people who are not native speakers. It devided by four parts wich are listening, speaking, reading and grammar, so students have many options to decide wich parts they need to focus on and improve. For example, we have our own weaknesses in grammar, so we just need to take this class. In addition, PCC's ESL program has the Learning Assistance Center (LAC). There are a lot of tutors that help us to fix our English problems, and they are able to give student's a hand to do their homework. Also, the LAC provides many different materials that are very helpful such as movies, books, and listening CDs. Last of all, PCC's ESL program gives us nice places to do our lab-work such as the reading center and the computer center. We can do a lot of exercises and search for information there to improve our English skills. For instance, there are many different levels of RFU at the reading center, so you can practice by which level you are.
    In conclusion, there are three reasons why we choose PCC's ESL program. Come to try it. We have gotten high scores and good system that we have experienced with this ESL program. We think this will help you a lot.

  2.  At the LAC provides us very usefull reading materials and places to watch the theater.

3. Each computer has a grammar program that help us to practice and improve ours writing and speaking skills.

     There are a few ways I prefer for learning. Teachers often provide various learning experiences such as reading, listening and speaking. In this way,I have an opportunity to learn in the ways that best suit me.First of all,I like the visual learning style.In class, I prefer taking notes,reading books,looking at the blackboard or seeing pictures.These ways can help me get good study effect.Then I can get high scores on tests that depend on my reading comprehension.Also,I prefer maps to verbal directions when I try to find a place.In addition,I am a reflective learner.When I get a problem,I consider it carefully.And I take enough time to think about many ways which can solve it.Then I choose the best one of them.I think this way can help me do the correct things.I usually read slowly,but I can think and understand what I read at the same time.In speaking English,I always think about the vocabulary and grammar before I speak.Even though it takes me time,it is a good way to practice me the rule of English.Finally,I have intrapersonal intelligence.That means I like to work alone.I prefer doing homework by myself than by a group.I feel that it wastes a lot of time if I work with friends,because we focus on talking or something else.When solving problems,I am used to figuring them out by myself.It is easier to decide than to ask someone else to help.To sum it up,these three ways are good learning styles for me.They can raise my learning effectiveness and adjust my learning styles for maximum advantage.

    We know some good ways to study English outside class.There are many students that have their own style and different strategies to study.We want to share three good ways that we learned by our experience with you.First of all,review your notes that you wrote in your class again after your reach home.For example,summarize and check the important points that you wrote during the class.Also,reviewing your notebook can help you to remember what your organized before,such as key points or important things that your professor taught you.In addition,you should learn English by reading and listening some interesting things which you like that have some relation to English.Read English magazines and newspapers every day in your free time to improve your understanding and vocabulary.Also,listening music or watching TV can help you improve your listening and speaking.Finally,you can make your own flashcards and take them to everywhere you go.You can draw pictures on your flashcards.It will help you to remember the difficult words more easily,and you can write down the grammar that you are not familiar with yet.In conclusion,if you want to learn English well,you can follow the three ways that we shared above.

My First Experience Learning English

    My first experience learning English was interesting.English is a biggest language that almost many children of every country should learn it in the world.It can help us in many ways from life to work.This is a developing language in that period.As the first communicating language in the world,many schools began to set the English class in the class schedule.So first of all,when I got the news about opening the Englsih class,I was so surprised and excited.What I was surprised was that this is a new information for us,and what I was excited was that I wanted to try this new language even though I didn't really know about it.In additional,the spelling and the prounaucation of English was totally different with Chinese.When the first time I heared what the teacher taught us about the alphabet,it was really funny.All of the class were laughing.It was so strange for us.Finally,our interest in learning English was raised gradually by the grammar.As is known to everone,grammar is the most difficult part in the English learning,You should remember many rules which are different from Chinese.Luckily,we had a responsible teacher who taught us over and over again until we remembered the use of English grammar.To sum up,I had fell in love with this wonderful language from my first English class.Therefore,learning English was a happy thing for me.And I had knew the importance of English study,so I spent a lot of time on learning English and never be a passive student in this part.

    If you want to ask me why we should study English, my answer will be simple and clear. Now, English has become a world language.And more and more people begin to learn English .Almost everyone around us can speak a little English.But why am i studying English?
    The most important for me is that I am in America now.English is a tool for studying any kinds of knowledge.Wherever we go to eat or buy something,we always should speak English.And there are many important and interesting books are in English.Also we can communicate with other people who are from different countries better if we understand English well.
    And after I graduate from university,i will do business with foreigners,I should speak English at that time.The world meeting always use English;many important books are in English .Also we can know each other better if we understand English.I hope that every students can pay attention to study of English,and make use English often. In this way,we can improve our English .
b) Do you use English very much when you're not in this class? Explain what situations you need to use it in.


    No,I don't think I use much English when I'm not in this class.The one reason I think is that we don't have a really English evironment to practise and improve our English.This is not enough for us who are not native speakers just have communication at classes.But in this English country,of course,less or more we have to speak English to talk with foreigners.For example,when you take a bus,go to mall or market,you should know what the magzines and advertisements say.If you need help or ask some questions,then you should speak English at least.When you go to watch a movie,you also need a good understanding to know what the movie talk about.And if you want to make many foreign friends,then learning English well is the important thing.


c) How do you feel when you use English? Are you sometimes nervous, comfortable, or...? Explain.
   
    Everyone has different English levels, I may feel nervous when I talk to someone whose English is much better than mine.But this is the best way that I learn English.Maybe at first I feel uncomfortable and shy,but I will get a lot of improvement after a persistent stage.So I hope I can chat with others in English from now on.Thus I can improve my spoken English, and I'll be so grateful if he/she can correct my mistakes in time.I will remember it and remind myself next time when I use it again.
